🚨 APPLY! Join the Project C Creator Cohort @ ONA25

Registration, travel, coaching, and connection included!

Project C, in collaboration with The Lenfest Institute for Journalism and the Online News Association, is excited to bring 10 independent journalists working in the creator ecosystem to attend ONA25 September 10-13 in New Orleans!

This is more than a free ride – it’s a chance to build community, grow your network, and represent the future of journalism on a national stage.

Cohort members will receive:

  • A seat in the inaugural Project C ONA Creator Cohort

  • Complimentary ONA25 registration + one-year ONA membership

  • Up to $1,000 travel/lodging stipend

  • Membership in the Project C Creator Journalist Bundle, including the private Slack community

  • A complimentary 1:1 coaching session with a Going Solo instructor

As part of the cohort, you’ll:

  • Attend sessions in the creator-model journalism track

  • Build your network of fellow independent journalists

  • Sign up for a short shift at the Project C table on the ONA Midway to meet & greet attendees and help spotlight creator-model journalism

  • Share key takeaways post-event for a Project C newsletter recap

This year, ONA is hosting more creator-focused sessions than ever. As part of the cohort you’ll hear from fellow independent journalists and others working to grow the creator journalism ecosystem, including Adriana Lacy, Caitlin Dewey, Matt Kiser, Ryan Kellett, Blair Hickman, Kiran Chawla, Sky Dylan-Robbins and more yet-to-be announced smarties.

We’re looking for people who are curious, community-minded, and eager to help shape the future of journalism. If you’re an independent journalist creating original news content through newsletters, video, podcasts, social media, or another platform — this opportunity is for you.

Applications open until July 18th at 11:59 PM EST. Let’s show up for each other — and for the future of journalism!

🙏 Huge thanks to The Lenfest Institute for Journalism and the Online News Assocation for making this opportunity possible.
